Dize
Hello all, I successfully installed Snow Leopard 10.6.6 on a T61 Laptop. I went and brought a Netgear WG111v3 wireless usb adapter and it works fine at home. When I go to another network, like at my school and enter the password it says it's connected but I cannot get on the internet. I removed my home profile from the Netgear wireless utility program and that didn't work. When I got home I tried to connect to my network there and it didn't work when I put in my passkey. It says it's connected but I can't browse the web. If I turn off having to use a password to connect to the internet I can get on. I really don't know what is going and I tried searching but could find anything related to the problem I'm having. Thanks in advance for any help. With my wireless card on osx, I can only connect to b or g networks, or b/g mixed, I can't connect to n or b/g/n. Your card may have the same problem. Another common issue is the type of network security, wep or wpa or wpa2. I asked a similar question to yours yesterday, but got no responses. Sorry I can't help more. Dize
Thanks for your reply. Maybe that's what is going on. I will have to look into it further. Thanks you gave me something I didn't think about. Dize
Ok I figured it out. I needed to go to System Preferences and then select Network. Where it says Configure IPv4, I had it set to Using DHCP with manual address, I changed it to Using DHCP and now all is good with my internet connection.
