Hi all... I have OSX 10.4.3 running dual boot on my machine:

- Pentium M735 (1.7Ghz) with L2 2MB, its support SSE2

- 512MB DDR PC 2700

- HD 60GB (6.5GB Partition for OSX)

- ATI RADEON Mobile 9700 64 MB

Whenever I opened an application, the virtual memory is growing fastly (sometimes it almost 5GB),

And after I used my mac for about 20 minute, the performance is really sucks. I think it because of the virtual memory. I've tried to add additional RAM, so I have 1.2GB RAM, but the problem is still appear. Actually I want to upgrade my OSX to 10.4.6 (after fixing the problem).

Is there any patch or tweak performance for my problem? Coz I read on the forums, that OSX can run smoothly on my spec.

Thx,

Andre

Hi again.. I think it's UDMA isn't enable in my laptop... Because XBench's Score of my Disk Test is really slow... The result is:

Sequential 36.67

Uncached Write 33.75 20.72 MB/sec (4K blocks)

Uncached Write 51.34 29.05 MB/sec (256K blocks)

Uncached Write 23.93 4.00 MB/sec (4K blocks)

Uncached Write 55.04 27.66 MB/sec (256K blocks)

Random 18.09

Uncached Write 6.12 0.65 MB/sec (4K blocks)

Uncached Write 35.50 11.37 MB/sec (256K blocks)

Uncached Write 63.98 0.45 MB/sec (4K blocks)

Uncached Write 71.70 13.31 MB/sec (256K blocks)

Can anybody tell me how to enable my UDMA or maybe the right kext?

Anyway I'm using Intel i855PM chipset

Thx in advance,

Andre

Quite a lot of the time the hard drive has a slow result on xbench, and i wouldnt trust it 100% anyways. Id probally try downloading the jas full version of 10.4.6 or something. I have never really heard of your problem
