nethwka
Ok for those that dont know it there is a way to read/write an ntfs disk "native" in 10.6.6 snow leopard. Here is the procedure: 1.Open disk utility 2.Choose the ntfs disk 3.Right click -> informations 4.Write down the Universal Unique Identifier 5.Open terminal and type "sudo nano /etc/fstab" 6.Type "UUID=put_the_universal_unique_identifier_here none ntfs rw" (of course without the ") 7.Press ctrl+O (the letter not the number) to save the file 8.Press ctrl+X to exit the file and close terminal 9.Restart and there you have it! pls_spam_me
Is this new for 10.6.6? I always thought you have to use ntfs-3g to read write to NTFS. I guess this method works for a NTFS partition on the HDD but not as well for a NTFS USB stick? Have you tried your method with a USB stick? JBraddock
I used to have this hack when I first installed the OSX but later it became the primary reason for the KPs and overheating. So I suggest you use this hack with caution and bear in my that there might be a good reason that it is disabled by default. IDSkoT
I've been using Paragon NTFS, and I haven't had any issues with it. Before, I tried two other ones (I forget the names), but they were basically nightmare stories that corrupted my Windows hard drive and made a mess of everything.
