I am new to OSX Kindly if any body knows how can i solve this problem then guide me . Thanks in advance ;)

 

Dell Optiplex Gx620

Processor : Pentium D 820 2.8

Ram : 1024 MB DDR-2

Motherboard : Intel 945

 

I want to install Mac OSX on these specifications so i use DVD iPC_OSx86_10.5.6 but

When i start booting from Dvd with -v option

Booting starts but halt and show error message Read/Write error

 

Please if anybody knows

Why this error message is shown or

which version will compatible with my specification then help me.

IPC 10.5.6 Final is fine for your system. More than likely it is your DVD drive especially if you have a Small form factor or Ultra small ff with the laptop type dvd drive. Try cleaning the DVD laser. Alternatively use a USB DVD Drive or clone the Install Disc to a USB flash/hard drive.

The GX520 SFF i had would not boot from any distro or retail install discs. The GX520 Desktop I have now has a full size drive (LG DL DVD RW) and is no problem.

I dont have a Laptop CD/DVD Drive i have

_NEC DVD +-RW ND-3530A ATA Device

in my desktop system. But i burn many disks and checked the error is the same . Okay now i will try to change my DVD Drive and will tell you after checking Thanks Alot .

And check to make sure the DVD drive is set to master and not cable select or slave is probably a good idea.
