BryanR
Hi, Like many others, I want to change the wireless card installed inside my HP laptop, but I can't because the BIOS has a whitelist that only allows specific cards. I've read other posts on here about flashing the BIOS, but I don't think anyone has the same laptop as me. On the bottom of the laptop, it says dv9700, but in the BIOS the product number is FF495EA, which according to HP is a dv9827em, which has the same spec as my laptop, so I'm 90% sure it is a dv9827em. I'm currently running BIOS version F.30, but the latest release is F.33 (AMD): ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48124.exe Could someone supply me with a patched version of F.33 or help me patch it myself? I did try reading the various posts on it, but I think I need special software? I tried just using a hex editor, but I couldn't find the whitelist - there was lots of matches for "F9 EB 01 F8". Cheers, Bryan Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/247517-patched-bios-needed-for-hp-dv9827em/ Share on other sites
