Hi, everybody! Here's my prob. The mentioned DVD drive though being kind of native for a Mac is not recognized by the system OOB. By putting the DeviceID into AppleVIAATA.kext and restarting it does come to life, reads everything well but won't write! My specs:

SL 10.6.6 Retail

Gigabyte GA-X48-DS5

C2D E8500 at native clock

4 gb RAM

DSDT made by DSDT Auto Patcher (not altered)

I've got two questions - is it possible to make the drive be recognized by the system without crutches like AppleVIAATA.kext? And the second one - how to make this beast write? Thanks in advance! ;)
