Problems with retail install ep45-ud3R (10.6.6)

Hey

i was the proud owner of a rock solid 10.5.6 install then i decided to upgrade my pc and install snow lepoard from scratch.

here are the specs :

-mobo : gygabite ep45-ud3r

-graphic card : Radeon hd 5870 1go

-Q5550 @ 3.8ghz

- 8go ddr2

- raptor hd for snow leopard and a bunch of others hdd

 

 

i followed the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] / [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] tuto on tonymac's website and after some tries, i managed to get the computer running, made the update (combo update 10.6.6), launched dsdt autopatcher, got my dsdt patched on the desktop, launched [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url], made a dsdt based install without specific options besides chameleon for ATI, permissions repaired, then reboot.

i then installed netkas latest patch for radeon cards, my 5870 is working perfect now with QE CI enabled, i installed kext for my audio card, i do have sound too now..

 

 

Then some problems started to grow.. theres like instability in my system, i had several random kernel panics..

i'm not sure but since i installed this kext to change HDD icons (they were like removable drives), i got some apps randomly crashing.. (for ex, i can't go on facebook with safari... or it crashes..), windows messenger 8 makes my system kp in a matter of minutes... Minecraft's server crashes often too.. same as speed download, etc..

 

I don't know how to take a picture of the kp when it comes since i don't have the verbose.. juste a text saying to reboot my computer.

if anyone could help me to get thins stable.. it would be great, thnx

One Way to track down Kernel Panics is:

Darwin flags most commonly added to com.apple.Boot.plist file:

Note: Any flag can be added to your boot.plist but these are just the common ones.

debug=0x144 When added as a boot flag to your com.apple.Boot.plist will give you details about a kernel panic you have at any time when running OSX. I believe it is the same as debug=0x100, not sure.

next Time you'll get a Kernel Panic, some text, instead of the Hold the Power Button.. bla bla messega should appear. This might be some help to see what is causing the Error.

As far as I know it is also Saved in the console, which is located in your programs/ ..?? Folder...

Well.. i didn't manage to get the kp reports when adding the kernel flag, it dit juste... nothing more than usual lol.

Anyways, i think i solved the problem..

As i stated, my system is overclocked, it was running flawlessly with my 9800gt, but keep in mind that the cards doesnt produce as much heat as the radeon 5870..

So i launched memtest an entire night.. just to be sure and when i saw the results, there were many errors as you can see on the pics :

 

 

 

What i did is shutdown my system, pulled off the ram, let it cool down, then i let the case opened, got rid of the overclocking, and tested the ram modules 1 by 1.. guess what.. ? no errors at all

 

So i tested them by pairs, no errors anymore, i put them back and concluded that the problem was caused by too much heat.

No problems since i pulled the ram back in.

 

What do you think about this.. ?
