Alright so I have nawcomModCD and booting with that. I swap the modcd with the Snow Leopard Retail and it shows up as an option to boot. Here lies the issue. I've tried the following options all of them cause a kernel panic..which reads out to:

"unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@/Users/nawcom/builds/xnu-1456.1.26/iokit/kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1393

I've tried booting with the following options...

-x -v busratio=20

-x -v busratio-19

-x

-x busratio=20

-x busratio=19

-v busratio=19

-v busratio=20

I googled for the answer with just the first part of the kernel panic error and it just brings me back to this site with posts with UNANSWERED questions. So what now?

Suggestions? It's a Samsung QX410.

I don't know if you haven't checked this section out yet.

Seems like the busratio=17 is correct. So far, i've gotten to the language screen with the nawcom cd along with a 10.6.4 install dvd coming out of a new imac. The problem is, once i reach the language screen and select english it states that it cannot install os x on this computer.

So I click "restore from backup" then I go to file and open the disk utility. Through that I formatted the extended partition I made. I tried the process again with no avail.

Now i'm attempting to do the same thing with the iatkos dvd. Seems like allot of people are having luck with that

Did you continue this process?

UPDATE: No luck with iatkos dvd, or ##### dvd. nawcom cd gets me the farthest but like I said, once I reach the instilation screen, it states I cannot install os x on this computer and asks me to restore.

So I click restore and go to the disk utility at the top. I have a 15gig partition formatted as HFS journaled.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Ive tried AHCI enabled and disabled same results. anything but busratio=17 will not work.

I recently bought a QX510, and I'm planning to install OSX on it also. I'll report back on my progress.

Our computers are almost identical except for the graphics cards. I'm willing to bet your bios is the same too. Lemme know where you get, if I find a definative way of installing this, i'll make a step by step with pics for other samsung owners.

I video taped the problem i've been running into.

i've tried -v cpus=1 busratio=17 and 20 anything anyone? If you want to help please watch the video and let me know if you can see the probelm. im so CLOSE!

I'm using instillation dvd 10.6.4

I managed to install 10.6.3 w/o much hastle, but when I try to update it to 10.6.7, after the reboot I get unsupported chip and ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out errors.

I used ##### latest cd, and a retail version of Mac OS X. Just burn ##### to a cd, boot it, insert OS X, hit F5 at the ##### boot menu, select Mac OS X Install, type: -x, and hit enter. The install should run smoothly, after that follow the instructions @ iBoots site.

Also, when I use the nawcom cd, i've tried to the option to mach_kernel because i'm using the 10.6.4 install dvd, but towards the end of the mac os x dvd booting up, it states that due to the i3/i5 processor not being supported till 10.6.4, it reverts to legacy kernel.

Why does it revert when i've told it to use the kernel off the dvd which supports i5s?

This is where I get stuck with ##### CD, and 10.6.4 os x install dvd out of imac. it's been sitting like that for 15 minutes. the cd spins every once and a while but I believe its there to stay like that. i've tried busratio=17

Some other information that might help, I created two partitions with my windows drive, formatted them with disk utility as hfs journaled, so there are two partitions that mac os x can be installed on. I have AHCI enabled in the bios. The nawcom cd can get me to the os x install screen but once i select and language thats where i get the "os x cannot be installed on this machine" error. from there was where I was abled to select disk utility and format both partitions.

Lastly, I have mac drive installed on the windows partition and it can't see either HFS partitions. weird?

I used easybcd to create an option for os x at start up.

I just reverted back to my Windows 7 (I made a disk image before, to restore it w/o the need to re-install all of it). I just don't have enough patience and knowledge to do this. I think I'm gonna just wait until Lion comes out, and there will be a new wave of custom bootloaders, and kext drivers for new hardware.
