Strange problems in AMD retail install

I've got a retail install of OS X 10.6.6, using the 10.6 legacy kernel for AMD compatibility. I've got several problems with the installation:

1) Random-ish kernel panics. The strange thing about the panics is that when they happen, I can still move the mouse cursor, and I can move it overtop the text in the panic.

2) System-wide instability and slow-ness. One example is with Skype: it always crashes within a few seconds of starting up. The crash log shows this error:

Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGFPE)

Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000

My boot flags are "arch=i386 -force64 maxmem=3072". My extensions in /E/E are; AHCIPortInjector, FakeSMC, IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector, IOATAFamily, IONetworkingFamily, NullCPUPowerManagement, and SleepEnabler. It would be greatly appreciated if you could at least guide me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance!

I'm having problems like this with skype as well.

When I start skype, it simply crashes a few seconds in. Also, Source games (Half Life 2, Portal) seem to crash when a video is about to load. Trine crashes when a video starts as well, right after it finishes at the loading screen.

I feel like it's related to Quicktime, but I don't know for sure.

Any ideas?
