Trying to install OSX on my AMD system and I am having terrible luck, I got it working breifly using iATKOS S3 but made the mistake of trying to install video drivers, which broke it. I made an image backup BEFORE doing it but that stopped working for whatever reason.

Anyway, I used a machine with 10.6.6 on it and used SuperDuper to clone the drive over, I tried using a Boot CD that Mr. Khairy has in one of his guides and I get the issue that is in the following screencap.

I tried fsck_hfs and it said the drive had zero errors on it. Am I missing something? I have gotten this to work on a couple of my laptops and a PC, but those were all intel :) I understand that I am fighting an uphill battle here but any insight would be greatly appreciated.

My specs are:

AMD X6 1055T

M4a79 Deluxe

6GB DDR2

ATI Sapphire 5770

Using AMD and ATI is just asking for trouble... ^_^

It looks like FSCK is failing. If i were u id try reinstalling again since running fsck doesn't work

It's a pain to be sure, but I got it working using maxmem=4096, not sure why that was the problem but there it is lol.

You might wanna rethink that statement... did you try putting www.ati.com in your browser? try it and tell me where it takes you.

as for the OP, did you put a modified kernel on your AMD hackintosh? this is not an intel machine where it can run vanilla kernels. If you have, I aplogize, just covering the basics to see where the problem is.

What i meant was that neither AMD processors or ATI graphics cards play very nicely with OSx86. Its the Intel/nVidia combo you want for a smooth vanilla install.
