hmmm...well i took the plunge and installed Snow Leo on this old box (Asus P4P8x MB P4 2.8Ghz Northwood i865P ICH5R (Hyper-threading & PAT enabled) 2GB DDR400 memory onboard sound and ethernet EVGA GeForce 9400GT PCI 1 GB)...started with the leohazzard 10.6.2 Server/Client for sse2 and quietly updated to 10.6.6 manually through the combo update package ...used the 10.6 legacy_kernel installer after install and Before restart....it's quite fussy about what it will do...installers don't work...leaves a ghost image when ejecting mounted dmg files...safari crashes...lol...and graphics are problematic...however i do have sound and ethernet working...trying to set date and time is a real b*tch too... is there another sse2 10.6 kernel out there?

here's a rundown of my hardware:Hardware.tiff

Apparently it is possible...

..well...not a single comment?.....very well...i may as well try the (beta)10.6.7 delta update as well....still with the legacy 10.6 kernel....and i rolled back my nvidia drivers to version 19.5.8f03 ...with these no acceleration but GraphicsEnaber=Yes does identify my card without crashing ...the newer 256... version was unkind to me...i'll post a screen when it's done...wishing myself luck... :P:)
