Gdonnelly Posted August 14, 2006 Share Posted August 14, 2006 Hello all, I am having a problem when I try to install 10.4.6.install.dvd on my Compaq Presario M2305NR. It loads up darwin and the the grey apple logo shows up, but after about 5 mins I get a little circle with a line through it on the apple's stem. Any Ideas? How ever it will install on my desktop. Just Ethernet, Sound and Video card problems there (have to sit down and mess with drivers). Thanks Everyone! Ash86 Posted August 14, 2006 Share Posted August 14, 2006 I had a similar problem with my Presario R3000, which has an ATI chipset. Boot up again and before the installation starts press F8 to choose options. Type in "-v" (without the quotes) to enter Verbose mode. If you see "Still waiting for root device" you have the same problem that I did. You'll need to download the ATI patch from the usual places (also called the JaS PPF1 patch) apply the patch and install again. This is ONLY if your laptop has an ATI chipset. if not you have another problem.
