DrBawb
Hello guys. I'm new here, though I've been reading the Wiki for a long time. I do own a G3, running 10.3, but it's quite dated now, so I decided to turn my PC into a Hackintosh. It's working pretty well, I've even done an update to 10.6.4 successfully. However, selecting "About this Mac" crashes the finder. I go to a blue screen with no mouse cursor for about 3 seconds, and then the Finder reloads. It also closes all my apps, without saving open documents. I'd love to get About this Mac working, just for the satisfaction of seeing "AMD Athlon 4400+" under processor... I've seen quite a few fixes on this forum; but most of them refer to Mac OS 10.4.4 and patching the loginwindow. There's also recommendations of replacing an SMBIOS kext, but that also seemed to be outdated. Also, I don't really want to mess with that KEXT without proper guidance, because I had issues with SMBiosResolver and kernel panics on my first attempt at installing SnowLeo. P.S: System Profiler shows all my system stats just fine. With the exception of misreporting my graphics card as a Radeon 4890 (it's a 4650.) Thanks for any help in advance (System specs should be in my siggie, let me know if it's missing anything crucial) Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/245507-snowleo-amd-about-this-mac-crash/ Share on other sites
