Hi All,

After using OSX via VirtualBox I wish to move to an actual installation.

I have a Dell XPS17 (L701X) and the iATKOS_V7 iso which I used on the VM.

When I boot to the DVD I get the loader messages, the screen quickly falshes up the Apple Mac logo and then restarts itself.

Can anyone give me any pointers or advice?

Specs are;

CPU: i7 Q740

Graphics: nVidia GT445M (3GB)

RAM: 8GB

If you need any more information then please let me know.

Thanks

when you're selecting your mac osx install cd, type in: -v -x cpu=1

and see if that helps

Would be really interested to see how you get on here. I have just bought a XPS 17, and really need to get OSX on there as I have a lot of video stuff from iMovie that I would like to be able to edit. My MacBook Pro died, and I just couldn't afford the expense of a new one. I still have my Leopard OS and other software, so I would like to be able to carry on getting some use out of them.

What's the performance like when using via VirtualBox?

Also, there is a guy over on another forum that states he has got this working - with no instructions unfortunately. What definately doesn't work is the Intel 1000bgn card, so I've just ordered a Dell 1510 from Ebay to get me started. Maybe he will pop in here and give us some ideas.....

@Johnie89 - Thanks for the advice. I tried this (hit F8, typed -v -x cpu=1) and then hit enter and had the same issues (i.e. the grey screen with the apple logo flashes up for less than a second then the laptop restarts).

@Jeboa - can you share a link to this other forum so I can try and contact them?

Thanks to everyone in advance for the help, apols to be such a noobie!
