Won't Boot Without -f After 10.6.6 Upgrade

Hackintosh newbie here.

I updated my 10.6.3 hackintosh to 10.6.6 and now if I boot without using the -f flag, it goes from the gray Apple logo screen to a blue screen and stays there.

If I use the -f flag it boots fine.

The reason I upgraded was because I always had a hiss in the background of my sound and wanted to get everything up to date to hopefully resolve that.

Now it has NO sound (doesn't even see an audio device), but I want to get the boot issue resolved first then worry about sound.

GA-G41M-ES2L, Core 2 Quad Q8300 cpu, 4 GB RAM, Galaxy Geforce 9500GT 512mb video card.

Initial install was with Iatkos 10.6.3

Thanks in advance for any help!
