hjon034
Hi, I've managed to get SL up and running on my Asus notebook (N80Vb/x83V) using #####/##### method with a retail dvd, and everything is running perfectly - except sound (and wifi of course but you can't have everything). I've scoured the net for hours and tried various suggested kexts (both that came with #####, voodoohda, applehda) and none work. Voodoo actually gives me the hibernation error at reboot ("hibernation image is too old by xxxx seconds") and i have to boot in safe mode, delete and reboot. The device ID looks like this under system profiler Intel High Definition Audio: Device ID: 0x104319B3 Audio ID: 892 Available Devices: Don't know much about that but googling yields nothing. I have no idea what kind of sound card I have. This is really bugging me and if i could get it working it would be awesome, is there anything else I can try? Also, does anyone know where you can get the macbook pro wifi card (which im guessing will slot straight into my pci slot?) with international shipping (i.e. to new zealand). currently using my nexus one w/ tether for wifi and its working fine but a hassle to lug around. cheers for any help in advance. hjon034
i meant to mention also that sound originally did work when I first installed. I saw the "welcome to mac" video and had sound with it but after installing ##### it stopped working Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/244199-sound-card-asus-n80vbx83v/#findComment-1625992 Share on other sites
smoothJ
Hi Hjon, I don't want to jack your thread, could I bug you to post your ##### parameters? I have a x83v as well, and would like to play with OSX on it. If I could get it running, perhaps I can help with the sound issues. Thanks. GeneralAnthrax
I too would like to know what's kext and method you used to get it running smoothly. I can't seem to get sleep to work but I have audio by using voodoo hda kext I believe it's called. Wifi is a lost hope which is why I changed it out for a brodcom chip . OK, the answer to this is to launch ##### and select the Voodoo 0.2.2 driver. My sound on this machine is running perfectly with that one. The newer versions of the driver don't work.
