tomtom.oz
Hi, tomorow I'll make a big jump : I'm building a Hackintosh for semi-professionnal HD video editing and color grading with fcp and apple color, I want the system to deal fluently with FullHD Apple Pro RES 4.2.2 and 4.4.4. please give me some feedback, I think i'll follow tonymacosx86 customac pro tutoriel as my config is quite close to it. here it is : Mother board : Gigabyte GA-X58-UD3R GPU : Sappire Radeon HD 5870 1Go (and maybe ad one later) is there a better option ? I was looking at 6xxx series but they are still not supported... Processor : Intel Core i7 950 (and maybe overclock later ) SSD : OCZ Vertex 2 60Go (for snow léopard) Raid 0 : 2 x Samsung spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1To 7200 RPM 32 Mo (for renders mostly), i'll work mostly from External eSata drives. RAM : 3 x 4 Go Gskill DDR3 1600 (for possible overclocking) 2 x Samsung DVD writer 800W power but still wondering if cooler master, corsair, or seasonic could be ok, System : Snow Leopard update DVD Apple key board, Black aluminium case with two 12cm fans (i'll see this in the shop) still looking for 2 not so bad 24" LCD around 200 € I could calibrate with my spider3 (later I'll by a blackmagic HD and propper color grading displays) I'd like to ad a multi card reader to the front (and maybe SxS ExpressCard), do you think anyone can work with snow leopard ? As it's my first build, even very basic advices could be helpfull... thanks in advance...........tom. P.S. I think i'll buy it tomorrow, so i'll let you know...
