dothacker
OK... If it says "Media Error", what pops into your mind? Your problem is probably your DVD (your media), and the way you burnt it... how fast did you do it? all the guides will tell you to do it as slow as possible... so if your DVD-RW writes as low as 1X, by all means, do it at 1X. dothacker
when you boot again, press F8 and type -v and let us know what errors you see.. Screenshot/pic would be a lot of help in troubleshooting your problem. Right now, dont worry about your sleep enabler for now, you can install that individually later. did you install a modified kernel? fastbackb16
thanks for the response. I made a noob mistake by not checkin the disc before i burned it. Ended up being a scractched up disc. So i burned another copy using a verbatims dvd-r at 2.4x speed. Booted up into the disk installed on a 50gb partition i made. i went into utilites erased the 50gb and made it with MAC OSX Journaled . Went back to install screen clicked customized install. I selected the options in custom install the same as crowbar guy in this thread : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t=#entry1556931 i selected all of these options in custom install: AMD Patch IOsatafix Atheros fix Voodoo HDA Driver my video car is a vision teck hd 4850(i wasnt sure what to select for this in the stall but i seleeted the one thats like 45xx 48xx one of the sleep fixes (it was elliot or something) installed smooth restarted and took out cd got to a part where it ask me to pick windows 7 or leopard i believe it had a lizard on the screen. it started loading and got to a grat screen with an apple in the center and it just stays there. im not sure what to do next im trying to be as detailed ad possible so every reading this can understand. im a noob at mac so baby steps are welcome and all the help is greatly appreciated Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/243829-stuck-at-apple-logo-after-install/#findComment-1624653 Share on other sites
dothacker
Your problem is... you NEED a modified kernel. Just pick one and only one. SL doesn't support AMD. Apple doesn't support AMD... what made you think that running vanilla kernel will be ok on AMD?
