I have a computer that has all three on it. the problem right now is that I cannot afford to lose my windows or OSX install and I can't get GRUB2 to boot OSX properly. I have been using a USB boot disk to boot OSX and it works but I would like a more permanant solution. What methods are there for setting up a boot menu for all three besides GRUB? I have googled this and have not understood the information I found and so I am not sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Agreed. What motherboard do you have? If you use ##### it will auto install Chameleon for you. The only issue you may run into is if you install Grub into your MBR or onto the Linux partition. (I assume you're using an MBR partition scheme since you have all 3 OS's on 1 disk?)

I have a machine with the same situation. I had all three OS's booting from Chameleon, but every time Ubuntu updates grub2 it would wipe out chameleon. I currently have a somewhat messy setup that has grub2 as the boot loader, which boots everything but OSX. I then have EasyBCD installed on the Windows partition, that boots everything, including OSX. Chameleon is installed on the OSX partition. When you install EasyBCD, it will automatically setup a Mac selection for the boot loader, but it won't work. If you set up your own it will, not sure why, but that's what I found. It's a messy setup, but at least Ubuntu updates don't kill my installs anymore. I'm willing to except the extra step at boot time to avoid the headaches that fixing chameleon caused.

It is very tricky to do a three way multiboot with Windows 7 on one harddrive. If you can, install Windows 7 on another harddrive that has an MBR partition table. It will make your life a lot easier.

When you install Chameleon or Grub into your harddrive's MBR, Windows will stop booting. I suggest that you install Chameleon on your MBR. Follow the steps in this guide to get Windows 7 booting again: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=165878

Then install Linux in its own partition. Make sure you use an ext4 filesystem and you install GRUB into the Linux partition, not the MBR. For example, /dev/sda4 and not /dev/sda.

yeah, i'm trying to remove GRUB right now, I can independently boot each OS as long as I use the BIOS boot menu or a third party boot manager.

Windows is on a separate drive, i have the only option of putting linux snd osx on one drive with separate partitions.

I'm running Windows7, Ubuntu, and OSX on 1 drive and it works fine. The key is to perform the OSInstall MBR mod located at this link.

http://osx86.sojugarden.com/downloads/

Replace the files on your install disk with the ones from that site. This will allow OSX to install onto an MBR partitioned drive. They key to getting this working though, is to install Windows7 on the drive FIRST. It will install like normal, and boot properly. Then install Ubuntu and do what TreeFriend mentioned. Use EXT4 and install the grub to the partition you're installin Ubuntu to. After that, install OSX. After your install and once you're at the desktop, use ##### to install either your custom DSDT or a predefined one. This will also install Chameleon. Your computer should now boot to the Chameleon boot loader and show all 3 operating systems. :)
