BNICE34
I have a Dell Studio 540 Slim with, Dual Boot Vista 64/OS X 10.5.6 Universal Intel Quad core 8 Gigs ram Everything works great except Audio? I have a Realtek audio card and a Digidesign Mbox 2 Mini I have tried all kinds of different kexts to get the factory audio to work and no prevail. The digidesign Mbox does not even light up or show up in the sound area! I would love to get this working so I can start recording some Music! iPixel
Did you try to download the latest VoodooHDA from code.google.com? For me, that did the job. I did notice a little bug however: Whenever I drag down the volume button (in the notification area) the volume remains muted, even if I drag the button back up! The only way to get the sound back (besides restarting) seems to be ajusting it manually in the VoodooHDA panel. Thanks for your response, and yes I have tried VooDooHDA but when I install it, it does not work, I get a bunch of errors such as Preferences Error Could not load VoodooHDA preference pane. BNICE34
FIXED, I had to install Protools 8 to get the drivers that operate my Mbox 2 mini. As far as my on board sound, 24 bits sound better than 16 any way, I'll stick with Digidesign!
