aenrii
Hello. I've been here on the forum for a long time, but not registered as long, and not active. Well, finally I can't seem to find any solution for my latest Hackint0sh issues. To be honest, I'm not sure whether this is a 10.6.6 issue or a 10.6.x issue. Because I installed 10.6.3 (seemed to work flawlessly) and directly upgraded to 10.6.6. First I had the issue of drives not being recognized as internal drives (fixed with IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext) Now however, the two issues I'm currently wrestling with; IDE DVD-R/W not detected at all (realizing this could be a 64-bit issue, I will reboot after posting this, trying out a new JMicronATA.kext for 64-bit). My Windows 7 drive (NTFS of course), isn't mounting at all. I have tried all the different commercial and non-commercial drivers/software for this in various combinations. Nothing works. I have scanned/repaired, everything is fine and it's bootable. (All these things of course worked flawlessly in 10.5.8). From what I can gather, this issue is not due to 64-bit, and not due to any broken ntfs-kext's. I could be wrong I guess, but I have exhausted my creativity with solving this. Any help is greatly appreciated! /A Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/243340-issues-after-updating-to-1066/ Share on other sites

Hopefully it can help you narrow things down. I also have Windows 7 on a separate HD and my MacOS mounts it without any problems. As for your IDE drive, I don't know, mine is sata. aenrii
I tried out the JMicron kext and it somehow fried my system (could have been me screwing up the permissions). All of a sudden all kinds of kexts started giving me KP's. So, since it was fairly freshly installed, I did a reinstall back to 10.6.3, and everything worked except graphics. Can't seem to get osx to recognize my card. OSX86 sure can be odd at times. I'm going to try to get the graphics working, then do an upgrade to 10.6.6 and see what happens. I have almost exhausted all my options though, trying everything from natit/nvinject to dsdt to get the graphics going. Seems like this could be a long weekend... I'm going to try some old kexts from my 10.5.8 installation that was working flawlessly... Btw I have/had the same kexts you mention, except the JMicron36xATA.kext, since I have an IDE DVD drive... Here's a thread that might help you. It lists different ways to get your nVidia card up and running. Also, are you running a DSDT? I'm using one created with DSDT Auto Patcher. You just select your motherboard and it'll automatically generate a DSDT with fixes applied to it already. Let me know if any of that helps. aenrii
I got it running flawlessly now. For some reason it seems I had broken some kexts somehow. It might be worth trying the dsdt method anyway, seems like the most proper way to run things. Thanks for the tips!
