OSX hates me

Okay, so I am using a burned Jas 10.4.6 OS X image on a DVD to try and install OS X natively. The problem is that while I can get into the installer, when I go to disk utility, it does not recognize the hard drive... at all. It doesn't see anything, only the DVD Drive. So I tried to set it up through VMWare, but everytime I run VMWare, I get a kernel stack error. I don't even get a chance to get into the installer in VMware.

I have set up a specific type AF partition and made it active and there still is no go when I try to boot it natively. VMware I have it set up to boot from the iso itself through a virtual drive made through D-Tools. Either way, right now I'm really stuck, if anyone has any suggestions, please help me out.
