patsryan Posted January 10, 2011 Share Posted January 10, 2011 Installed the Airport Client Update for Macbook and Macbook Pro and it screwed up the wifi on my dell inspiron 1545.. Please Help me!!! EDIT: It says "No Airport Card Installed" originally set up with iPC 10.5.6 and updated to 10.5.8 with iDeneb Combo Update. Couple of possibilities depending on what you're seeing. Does your machine indicate that airport is o longer installed? Or are you not connecting? First I'd go to your network connections, delete the existing ones if there, and then try to re add them. If that doesn't work, it's possible that the update has overwritten some of the files that allowed your OS to recognize your wifi card. To fix this you need to know what sort of wifi card you have and what it's device ID is. Then you need to use the terminal editor to go in and insert the appropriate device ID in the appropriate kext file. But first you need to know if your system is recognizing that it has a wifi card in it at all post update and what the device ID is. How did you set up your machine originally?
