patman77
now i can start the installation with "-v -x busratio=20" but wehn the language selection should apear, the screen goes black. Any ideas? hi i have the same problem (xps 1647, i5 430m), but it's not deterministic, sometimes the screen goes black, sometimes it just reboots. now i'm first trying to install it in the virtualbox (one step easier), it works, but when updating to 10.6.6, the mouse is frozen. i think this is just a matter of the right kexts... for your problem: did you already try "cpus=1" at startup? Some reported that "-f" and/or "-g" helps? also, you can press the "arrow down" cursor when selecting the os and try booting single user, for instance. please report what happens (here, with single user it reboots after the language selection, but not completely installed. strange).
