I've searched, and searched. People with DELL Latitude XTs have booted their machines with OSX before, but I've tried Hazard, Kalyway, and even the retail with NetbookBootMaker with no success. Only boot0 and deadbeef errors.

I'm using an external drive that I'm restoring the ISO on with my MacBook Pro, and I know that works because after it finishes, the OS X Installer pops up on that.

So what's the deal here? My BIOS is pretty bare, it being just like this:

I'm using Linux under it at the moment. Anything I can do from there? Like set up the EFI?

Hi,

I'm also noob... so maybe not able to offer the best advice, but I also was unable to boot the installer. Here's what I did to successfully install:

  • iPC OSx86 10.5.6 DVD would not load Darwin
  • Loaded Boot 132 / Boot Kabyl Bumby CD first
  • Swapped to insert iPC OSx86 10.5.6 DVD > escape > enter > loading Darwin x86

My hardware:

Dell Inspiron 700m

Intel Pentium M 725 Dothan

Intel 855GME/ICH4-M chipset

Happy hackintoshing! =)
