johnniecarcinogen
Check your BIOS and see if you can change your HD controller from IDE (or SATA) to AHCI. Safex
Check your BIOS and see if you can change your HD controller from IDE (or SATA) to AHCI. Thanks for your reaction! i already did that, because it was the only way to get the boot cd to mount / see the HD in the DiscUtility (should have mentioned that i guess) I'm now trying to only connect one HD, and disabling some functions on my MotherBoard (second LAN Controler, Firewire etc. ) Some other things i can try? mlgboy
Hi Fella, I have found that with iAtkos s3 10.6.3 that selecting any RTC option causes KP, don't know if your distro is the same but might be worth a try Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/242163-kernel-panic-during-installation/#findComment-1617915 Share on other sites

Safex
i was wondering if updating my BIOS could possibly resolve the problems i'm having.. my current BIOS version is 1.3 and the newest one is 1.A *the version before that is 1.9 so quite a lot updates.. also some involving AHCI etc.. here's a list http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=downlo...mp;prod_no=1846 Thanks in advance!
