When you installed, right before clicking th Install button, you first clicked the Customize button and selected packages that pertain to your computer. You would have clicked on the little arrow in front of the packages to reveal the individual selections.

What did you choose?

Ok, i have rerun the install, this time unchecking printer drivers and checking the box for Intel and AMD patch and when it reboots the machine scrolls through a bunch of file loaded messages real fast and then restarts. again no error message or anything

NO! There is a little arrow to the left of this item. You must click the arrow to reveal the individual packages to be selected. Only choose Intel OR AMD packages. Only choose SSE2 or SSE3 based on what your processor is capable of.
