Rammjet
When you installed, right before clicking th Install button, you first clicked the Customize button and selected packages that pertain to your computer. You would have clicked on the little arrow in front of the packages to reveal the individual selections. What did you choose? Loki008
I think that may be the issue, i just took another look at the custom settings and i specifically remember unchecking the printer drivers, but i dont remember seeing the patch at the bottom. I will let you know if that is the issue. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24203-boot-hanging-on-startup-screen/#findComment-160680 Share on other sites
Loki008
Ok, i have rerun the install, this time unchecking printer drivers and checking the box for Intel and AMD patch and when it reboots the machine scrolls through a bunch of file loaded messages real fast and then restarts. again no error message or anything Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24203-boot-hanging-on-startup-screen/#findComment-160691 Share on other sites

Rammjet
checking the box for Intel and AMD patch NO! There is a little arrow to the left of this item. You must click the arrow to reveal the individual packages to be selected. Only choose Intel OR AMD packages. Only choose SSE2 or SSE3 based on what your processor is capable of. Loki008
It looks like the SSE3 patch was giving me an issue, so i just applied the Intel patch and it seems to be working sans SSE3. Which is odd concidering i know its an SSE3 enabled chip. silverfox
What happens if you choose both SSE2 and SSE3? I did that because I was rushing and everything but iChat seems to work fine. Is there a way to uninstall the SSE2 patch from OSX, or do I have to use the install DVD? Maverick214
I have the same problem, I have to add -v to the boot options for it to load.
