DizKiller
Hello, new to this thread, and i have read as much as i can about this board, and i just CAN'T seen to get Snow Leopard to install on this board. The ONLY version of Snow Leopard that i can even get CLOSE to installing is this version... aITKOS S3 v2.... I have tried all 5 of the kernels, so many variations of the drivers, 64-bit, 32-bit, ect.... all combinations of -s -x -v -f -F fsb=200000000, busratio=20, busratio-40, maxmem=(from 1024 to 8192) cpus=1,2,3,4.... different bootloaders, everything...... the closest that i have gotten it to install is it hangs at the apple logo without the spinning wheel..... just hangs..... it installs successfully, (so it says) and it just hangs.... I use the -v -F fsb=200000000 and it throws some messages up that i am not able to read, (it lists too fast) and then just a blank screen......... (that is after the installation is "successful") people have gotten snow installed on this board before.... I have asked them, but to no avail.... Ran hardware tests on all of the hardware, ram, mobo, vid card... ect..... NOTHING! tried turning off devices in the BIOS, but it says to use AHCI, ACPIv2 enabled, usb legace disabled, i have tried eveything!!!! below are the specs of my computer: M3N78-VM AM3 955 BLACK EDITION QUAD 3.2Ghz 8gb DDR-800 SATA HDD SATA DVD-BURNER I HAVE USB, PS2 KEYBOARDS I HABE CHECKED THE MD5, ALL MATCHES.... TRIED DIFFERENT VIDEO CARDS, ONBOARD WITH DIFFERENT RAM SIZES... What am i missing???? Thanks for the help that you are able to provide.... PS: I am a computer tech, and i really do know what i am doing.... this just has me baffled.. I have also gotten this to install succ on a dell vostro 230 (intel) But this version supports AMD, 4 of the kernals says so on install... night_mare007
"Aitkos s3" release is for INTEL ONLY CPUs - as far as i know. Guess that's why it's not working... Mac Boy
If it installs, then it should be able to run. I had the same hang. Have you tried -v cpus=1 arch=i386 just before it boots for the 1st time? And you should remove the DVD just before it starts.
