Capt. Toddy Posted January 2, 2011 Share Posted January 2, 2011 Hi all I've been looking at the forums now for a few weeks and have just registered today as I'm starting to get serious about a build. I have a few questions about the way it works though. 1) After I install my OS am I then stuck with it? By that I mean can I run software update and have things run smoothly? 2) When looking at CPUs should I look at only the 64-bit models, or are there other options? Gringo Vermelho Posted January 3, 2011 Share Posted January 3, 2011 It depends on the hardware and your install method. Stick to Intel CPUs and a motherboard with Intel chipset. AFAIK all Core ix Nehalem/Westmere microarchitecture CPUs are 64-bit capable?
