I've been lurking for a while and read most everything pertaining to my installs at least twice.

I've got a T60 and a 1201n. Both are running GUID Partitions (GPT) w/ OsX 10.6.x dualbooted with windows 7/64.

I'm going to put notes here on my trials, errors, and issues and also my success so far with these two machines.

Pertinent machine specs:

1201n

  • mem 2gbx1 I have another that I will put in after I get everything working on osx. ; putting the 2g in solved the battery problembut broked sleep
  • hd 500gb : EFI 200mb/Osx 250gb/TimeMachine 50gb/Win7 200gb
  • Wlan TBD takes a half height card dell 1510 or atheros(any recommendations?)
  • Chameleon v2.0-RC3-amf5 r 2/13/2010
  • 10.6.4 / win7/64

T60

  • mem 1gbx2
  • HD 120gb : EFI 200m / Osx 90g / Win7 30g
  • Wlan Ath AR5006EG (working native) after bios whitelist flash
  • Chameleon v2.0-RC5 r681 12/19/2010 (installed by #####)
  • 10.6.3 /win 7/64

1201n

issues:

-no wlan card. looking for a compatible half height with injection

-HDMI audio - dunno

sleep -busted from 4g.

working: w7 hibernation

sound,

chameleon boot at incorrect ratio, -maybe upgrading to a new chameleon will fix this. FIXED: use 1280x720 instead. same ratio

battery. - try toine44 method ; for some reason, putting a 2nd 2g stick in solved this.

T60

issues:

no sound -drop in the correct kext.

sleep? -check it

working: battery

Sebinouse X60t

  • tablet/ based on silencer and martin255
  • DSDT based
    fixed:
    - IOATAFamily
    - Native SATA
    - Intel GMA950 / Intel GMA3100
    - Brightness Control
    - SpeedStep (P-States and C-States, CoreDuo and Core2Duo)
    - HDA Disabler
    - EHCI Fix
  • may not work well with my t60 because of extra unused ktexts like the tablet stuff.
  • has link to qe/ci tester
  • Aserebln (ver?) worked well for me before
-current 1.1.9 in sebinouse's package prevents win7 dualboot under gpt.

    -used

Trackpad Ultranavi

  • makes the middle button do something under osx.

  • should be rolled into sebinouse's install already by way of silencer. (confirm this)

delete /private/var/vm/sleepimage

chameleon boot at incorrect ratio

-1024x768 is displayed instead of 1366x768 clue theme internals

-perhaps need to load ion vROM.

FIX: in boot plist and theme plist use 1280x720(x32) as the screensize since 1366x768 &1280x720 are both 16:9 the boot screen is the right size and it is still 1366x768 in osx

w7 hibernation -fixed hb76's fix for win hibernation

- this involves editing the boot loader to prevent autoload of the active partition.

1. download a disk editor that can access raw disks
(e.g. HDD software Free Neo http://www.hhdsoftware.com/ for windows
HxD did not work because its not 64bit safe )
2. open your disk
3. Change the following line
0x060: c6 04 00 b3 01 80 ff 01 75 0a 80 3c 80 75 0f 30
to
0x060: c6 04 00 b3 01 80 ff 01 75 0a 80 3c 68 75 0f 30

-I used hxd on win7/64 and it was fine.

-after this edit, set w7 part active so windows allows writing of hibernation file

0 - Old style sleep mode, with RAM powered on while sleeping, safe sleep disabled, and super-fast wake.

1 - Hibernation mode, with RAM contents written to disk, system totally shut down while “sleeping,” and slower wake up, due to reading the contents of RAM off the hard drive.

3 - The default mode on machines introduced since about fall 2005. RAM is powered on while sleeping, but RAM contents are also written to disk before sleeping. In the event of total power loss, the system enters hibernation mode automatically.

5 - This is the same as mode 1, but it’s for those using secure virtual memory (in System Preferences -> Security).

7 - This is the same as mode 3, but it’s for those using secure virtual memory.
