up_late_again
Wife & I bought new laptops for Christmas. Both are Gateway NV53A: AMD PhenomII 3-core N830, 2.1 GHz AMD M880G chipset 1333 MHz FSB I have no use for Mac, I am adding Ubuntu to my own. But her, she's a longtime Mac user. So I said I could add it to hers... so she'll dual-boot with Windows 7 (already installed, came with the laptop). I am researching the krap out of this project... and I hope that this is do-able. The only version of iPC I could find was 10.5.6, downloading it now... ...BUT WILL IT WORK??? Maybe the laptop, seeing as though it's got a bunch of new-ness to it, needs to run Snow Leopard. Anyone have practical advice? Because the 10.5.6 download of course is taking forever... and if it's the wrong one to begin with this will delay takeoff. Along these lines, I'm also wondering (though I think I know the answer) if the genuine Mac install discs (10.5.4) which came with her Mac mini can be put to use of any sort?
