Jnk1296
Hi all. I'm new to OSx86, although i thought about it for along time. I didn't want to risk screwing up my new system, so i installed Snow leopard in a VirtualBox machine. So far i've force enabled resolution and learned to live without sound, but every time i try to shutdown or reboot OR if i leave OSX unattended for a period of time i get a kernel panic. Can someone help me fix this, as i am really loving this OS! Jnk1296
Well, i have a usb wireless adapter, but i'm pretty sure that VirtualBox emulates it has a standard ethernet connection. But either way, i disconnected it, and shutdown the VM, it gave me a kernel panic. So i restarted the VM, logged in, logged out, shutdown, and it still gave me a kernel panic. I also attempted to disable Absolute Pointing device from VirtualBox, but doing so disabled my mouse entirely. So i couldn't test the shutdown. Any other ideas? Jnk1296
Well, i tried installing another kext called OpenHaltRestart, the link said it was specifically written for SL. So i installed it with Kext Helper, after it finished, it told me to restart. So i did. After OS X hesitated for around 15sec., i was surprised to see the VirtualBox BIOS logo. So i thought ALL RIGHT!!! So, just to make sure that it worked, i immediately shutdown OS X as soon as it finished booting up. It gave me another KP!!! So i'm back to square one again!
