iPortable Snow on HP DV7 i7 ATI

Hi - I have created a startup USB drive with iPortable Snow - whatever flags I set t won't boot - usually KP - or if it boots further I get 'CPU Halted'.

Is this because of the ATI card?

 

Bit new to this...

hey

 

i seemed to have the same problem, there are two different ways to solve and one combined one:

 

i solved it like this:

 

pendrive in, boot up

 

type: "maxmem=2048 -s" without "" of course

 

it will boot up in single user mode

 

when you get a command prompt type

 

/sbin/mount -uw / <enter>

 

exit <enter>

 

and when its nessecary again exit and enter.

 

you may have to try it several times.

 

when you did this you should come into system

 

anoter way is just to hit "escape" in cameleon bootloader

 

thats much easier but i´m not sure it works

:-(( No good - still getting KP - was your lappy the same spec as mine? Starting to wonder if this will ever boot in to SL!

+++ Update +++

 

using the cpus=1 flag as well as the ones you suggested got me into the registration and setup which all completed fine ( even the webcam) - but then went as far as a blue/grey screen with a mouse cursor and no further.

Tried rebooting and same thing - any ideas? Is it the ATI card?
