I succesfully installed OS X 10.4.5 (Jas) on a Dell GX270 with Integrated Intel Extreme® Graphics 2.

Unfortunately, the system boots up in 256 colors (as was the install process...luckily I had installed before so knew what to click). and Display Settings only list the 256 color option.

Upon bootup, I can see there are several drivers that have the infamous incorrect permissions problem, but because of the 256 color, I can not see what they are (the text is extremly distorted).

Is there any way to somehow get a list (i.e. a text file) of drivers that have incorrect permissions? Maybe a startup log? That way I could copy the list to a flash drive and view the list in windows and use Terminal to repairt permissions. I'm hoping that the 256 color limiation is because of an incorrectly loading driver

Has anyone else had 256 color issues with the Dell GX270 or Integrated Intel Extreme® Graphics 2???? How did you fix it??

You don't have a 256 color problem (more like a 2 color problem), you have a problem where your 845/865 chipset bios isn't allocating enough memory for video (only 1mb) where most boards have updated bioses to give them 8MB of shared video ram which OS X will work with. Goto dell's website and see about updating the bios for your machine.
