I used a Kalyway distro for 10.5.2, and the install went fine, except for the audio and networking. I just want to get the internet to work to get kexthelper B7, which I hear is very easy to work with. So I tried following this guy's procedure on his Z61t http://www.intelliot.com/2008/09/os-x-on-a...heros-wireless/

but it didn't work for me..

I think my wireless card isn't based on an Atheros chipset because that's what I hear is needed for this to work. All I know about the wireless card is that it's a 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter , as described in the Topic Description.

The wired card is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Any replies would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hey guys, today I booted this up in safe mode, and the wifi started workin' all of a sudden.. kinda weird. But the settings still never get saved, and I have to go to network diagnostics and sign into wifi everytime I boot it up.

Also, kext helper b7 isn't what I expected it to be. I thought it scans your hardware and finds suitable kexts for you, but it actually just installs kexts you drag and drop into it. So now I have to find my kexts.. You guys know any good sites where I can find them? Because my audio still isn't working..

Thank you!

Edit: the only info I know about the audio controller is : Legend 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller

Merry Christmas everyone!!

I finally had leopard working, but 10.5.2 was too old to install any programs on (e.g. Photoshop, MS Office) as they all needed 10.5.8. So I decided on getting a Snow Leopard distro (iATKOS s3 v2 10.6.3), and I got everything to install.

...except the video card kexts. I checked the driver for the gma950 (which I own) for both installations. For the 1st install, I checked the 1st, and for the 2nd install I picked the 2nd option. Both do not work, and I am greeted with a blank grey screen at bootup. I can hear the regular boot up song, "Staying Alive" by whoever it is..

I'm thinking of installing a kext for my video card, but I don't know how to do this at the boot menu. What should I do?

I tried connecting the Thinkpad to an external monitor, and it worked! The PS2 kexts weren't installed however, so I connected my keyboard and mouse to it for it to work. Everything seemed smooth until I installed the PS2 kexts, which resulted in a Kernel panic. I resinstalled it 5 times since then, the 1st time resulting in a kernel panic as well, and the last 4 times resulting in freezing screens at the Apple splash logo. The song still comes up though. I was dual booting with Windows before, but the 5 time I wiped the entire drive, and I got the same result..

I am confused and about to give up.
