podie
I've lost count on how many times I've installed .6.0 in this past week. I guess I should give up trying to update at all. How do you update Snow Leopard if you get exclamation marks and warnings on the update window even before it begins? I was able to update to x.6.1 but that's as far as I'm allowed. I've used NBI 0.8.4 RC1 each time. Anyone out there have ideas or hopefully a fix? I've not yet fooled with sleep or sound yet, and my ethernet is my internet until I get a replacement wifi card. Should I give up on the updates? I love Snow Leopard on my N130... BUT! Thanks.....

The Apple with progress gear has been going round and round for 45 minutes now. I'm going to shut down now because this seems way too long. Advice? Please? I've been reading and researching the web forums, blogs, guides for two weeks. I've clogged up my brain. Thanks....

I've been reading and researching the web forums, blogs, guides for two weeks. I've clogged up my brain. Thanks.... I was able to get to the two partitions (OSX and Back-up) in safe boot. Then I could enter the back-up partition which has the original X.6.0 on it. I then tried to get into the OSX updated partition but no go- gear still goes forever until I shut down with the power switch. I tried booting after removing ethernet cord but same result. So, it's clearly the x.6.4 update. What can I do? I am able to access files from the other partition but at this point I'm feeling too stupid to trust myself. Any very simple instructions for a non-tech mind? Anyone know what key on the N130 netbook would be the command key for this hackintosh? Thanks.... From my back-up partition (Carbon Copy Cloner .6.0) I reinstalled NBI to the OSX partition with the wounded update. Updated partition still seemed messed up but finally I got a plain blue screen. Unfortunately the plain blue screen was frozen for more than five minutes as I was just staring at it trying to decide what to do next. I almost had a heart attack when the OSX.6.4 desktop appeared. I stared at it for a few more minutes, verified permissions in Disc Utility, and have now shut down the netbook so we can take a break from each other. Whew!
