Repairing Ipod Touch4 and Re-jailbreaking!Help Please!

I have couple of question if someone could answer them please.

I have Ipod Touch 4G (ver 4.1) jailbroken using limera. Now the problem is i broke the front glass of my ipod and i'm planning to get it repaired by Apple(UK). I will upgrade it to ver 4.2 before sending it to Apple because they won't repair the jailbroken device. Someone told me that when Apple Techs will check your device they will know that device was jailbroken and they will send it back without repairing. Anybody knows if that is correct? Also, will I be able to re-jailbreak my device after updating it to ver 4.2. Thanks in advance for your help.
