kingfarmer Posted December 21, 2010 Share Posted December 21, 2010 Hi All, Hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction as I've been chasing my tail on this for weeks: Q6600 2.4ghz Asus p5k-vm 2 Internal 7200RPM SATA drives 8GB RAM EVGA 9800GT 1GB Snow Leopard 10.6.4 The system is fully functional and reasonably fast and worked perfectly under Leopard. However after a vanilla install of SL, my audio / video performance has degraded significantly. I've tried enabling graphics/yes, Custom EFI strings, disabling on-board audio and using a firewire interface, but can't seem to get smooth Flash playback under Firefox (skips / stutters in full-screen), and the machine has a terrible time playing back 1080p video no matter the codec in Quicktime, VLC and FCP. However - When using XBMC I get perfectly smooth playback. I'm at a total loss and would really appreciate your insight.
