ALDEEM
Hello,, I had a problem installing this device, so I spent a long time to make it work, so I decided to add this guide. (Please do not plug in the USB adaptor, you will know when is the right time, just keep reading the guide ) Fist of all you need to download the driver from this website http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=3 Choose the USB driver RT2870. ======================================= Now mount the file and install the driver, it will ask you to restart.. DO IT. Run Terminal.. type in: cd /System/Library/Extensions and hit ENTER type in: chmod -R 755 RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext and hit ENTER type in: chown -R 0:0 RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext hit ENTER ..... Now type in: cd and hit ENTER type in: cd /System/Library/Extensions/RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext/contents/ and hit ENTER type in: sudo nano info.plist and hit ENTER it will ask for your password just type it in (it will not show **** just keep going and hit enter) ..... Now you will enter something like a text editor.. but in terminal (You can use ctrl+v to scroll down the document) Look for the line: <key>Linksys - RT2870 - 2</key> after about 8 to 9 lines, you will find <integer>113</integer> change it to <integer>121</integer> Now save the file by hitting ctrl+O .. then hit ENTER to confirm the name (DO NOT change the name just hit ENTER) Now hit ctrl+x to exit the editor. Again type in: cd and hit ENTER now type in: sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions hit ENTER. Finally restart the computer and then plug in the USB adaptor and the network configuration window should popup. Enjoy (Note: if you wish to replay.. please count how many times did I type (Type in, ENTER, now, hit) and inform me LOL
