gadflys
Hello, I am pretty new to osx86, but have a fresh install up and running fine except for the wireless. As noted, I have a Microsoft MN-730 Wireless PCI Card with the hardware ID of 14e4,4325 installed in my custom tower. Following all the directions that I have found, I have performed the following: * checked the /system/library/extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext file and it has my device properly listed in one of the strings already. * removed the Extensions.mkext folder that was listed in /system/library. * run disk permission repair many many times always repairing issues and restarting afterwards. * checked my system profiler which does not seem to list my wireless card under Network > Airport (only lists 'software version' info), or under PCI Cards (only shows my video). * run ioreg -flw0 which seems to list the device properly * went back into AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext and added the "compatible" strings from the device listing in ioreg -flw0, repaired permissions and rebooted. All of this and the device is still not listed in System Profiler or showing up in System Preferences > Network. I do know that this is a known-working card as it worked before installing osx86 and still works removing and putting in another windows system. Attaching an image of my ioreg pci device output in case it is of any use. If anyone could point out anything that I may have overlooked or help me discover why this is not working, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
