Jbbrack03
I just bought a Magic Trackpad and an Apple USB keyboard to add to my Hackintosh Desktop. The Desktop does not have bluetooth natively, so I purchased a USB Dongle from Wal-Mart. The packaging does say that the Dongle supports OS X. It is a iogear 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter. The instructions for the Dongle say that it's plug-and-play and does not require any drivers for OS X. I plugged it in and was immediately recognized by Snow Leopard. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.5 completely updated. I've got the Bluetooth Icon in the Top Right. I followed the instructions with my Trackpad. I opened the Trackpad from the System Preferences. It is able to scan and detect my Trackpad. It hangs for a minute and says "Connecting" and then it says that the pairing was unsuccessful. When I open my bluetooth properties, it shows my Trackpad and says that it is connected and paired. I've tried moving the Dongle to different USB ports. I've rebooted the computer several times. I can't seem to get this thing to Pair within the Trackpad properties. It paired just fine with my Macbook, so I know that the Trackpad is good. I've read that the Dongle has to have a certain chip to be compatible and I've seen people reference a "Wiki", but I'm not sure where that is. I've read posts where other people were using the same Bluetooth Dongle with Mac. Anyway, can anyone give me some ideas about what I can try? Do I need a special Kext? I'm completely open to suggestions.
