rbcn
I am new to the mac world, but not new to unix I am just wondering, why it is impossible to run 4670 mobility cards at full resolution? Even some Imacs were delivered with this card an they work like a charm. So why does nobody have a solution? Everything in my Dell XPS 1645 works, except the ATI card. Maybe someone could explain this. rbcn Sorry for my bad english Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/240122-why-do-ati-4670-mobility-cards-not-work-in-snow-leopard/ Share on other sites
Alessandro17
I have an explanation. Unlike Linux and other *nix, OS X was not created to support PCs, it was created to support Macs only. Thus only a limited number of hardware will work (often thanks to our devs). emely
I may have explanation for that. Most manufacture use lvds or something like this to pass video from graphic chip to laptop screen, but apple being apple uses displayport , so not compatible with lvds. so all with ati mobility radeon are out of luck until someone writes a driver for that. Thanks, thats an interesting point. So would it be possible to run an external graphics card, for example in ViDock 3 by villageinstruments? This will not work with the internal display, but would this work with an external monitor? Does anyone have any experiences?
