Hi Guys, am pretty new here, tryed hacbooks in past on an Dell 3000, But now want to try and use it as a day to day os.. As must of a mates got mac !!

 

So i have:

 

Dell Studio 1558

I5 Process,

64x

ATI Radeon HD 5300 series, ( i think)

IDT HD Audio (sucks)

Wificard, (although dunno what the make os)

Mini Firewire port,

Ricoh Cardreader..

2mp integrated Webcam...

edit ** opps and a gigabit broadcom ethernet thingie =]

 

The OS i'm download ATM, is iAtkos_Snow_Leopard_10_6_3.torrent

 

Is anyone wishing to help me get started ?

You should download Everest home edition (Google for download) and run it from Windows, and tell us the exact model of your Radeon HD card. (or whatever it is, I usually found dells 1558 with an Intel HD graphics chipset). But your version might be different.

 

Note: there are many other better versions than iAtkos, so if they work for you, it's great. Thanks for the reply... atm the have Linux Ubuntu 10.10 running on it, but id rather try Mac xD

 

although with it being 64x, i've tried IDeneb, and it got a HD error, Kalyway sometimes laods, n Ipc just reboots..

 

So am gonna try Iatkos - as i've never used it befor =]
