Dell435MT
Hello i'm new to the Hackintosh-thing, so i tried to install Mac OS X from a bought DVD with #####, but it seems like, i have to enable AHCI in my Bios. but i don't have the option there. so if i try to boot i get the error: "still waiting for root device" same here... so, later i tried to boot from an efi empire boot disk, and i could install it, but only with the bootflag -x. :/ what does that exactly mean to me now? Mainboard: Dell 0R849J Chipset: Intel X58 Southbridge 82801JR (ICH10R) Processor: Intel Core i7 920 Ram: 6gb Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 3600 (256 MBytes) Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239978-dell-435mt-retail-installation-without-ahci/ Share on other sites

Dell435MT
i used the eif-empire boot cd the, loaded it, insertet the retail DVD of mac os x and pressed F5 now you should see the DVD icon of mac os x dvd just enter -v -x and press enter. Just use raid, it turns on AHCI as well. and You'll need a different video card, that one won't work, which may explain why it won't work in all but safe mode. but since it's radeon 3600 SERIES and my setup for my dell pc says radeon HD 3650, and for the 3650 i can download, after the installation some kexts, can't i? http://www.kexts.com/view/155-ati_hd_3650_...ard_10.5.x.html http://netkas.org/?p=61 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239978-dell-435mt-retail-installation-without-ahci/#findComment-1602933 Share on other sites
