Dell 435mt - Retail Installation without AHCI

i'm new to the Hackintosh-thing, so i tried to install Mac OS X from a bought DVD with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url], but it seems like, i have to enable AHCI in my Bios.

but i don't have the option there.

so if i try to boot i get the error: "still waiting for root device"

same here...

so, later i tried to boot from an efi empire boot disk, and i could install it, but only with the bootflag -x. :/

what does that exactly mean to me now?

Just use raid, it turns on AHCI as well. and You'll need a different video card, that one won't work, which may explain why it won't work in all but safe mode.

i cant even get to the installation i tried with empire efi and got to the 'still waiting for root device' error, how did you enter the '-x' bootflag like where, when and how (:

i used the eif-empire boot cd

the, loaded it, insertet the retail DVD of mac os x and pressed F5

now you should see the DVD icon of mac os x dvd

just enter -v -x and press enter.

but since it's radeon 3600 SERIES and my setup for my dell pc says radeon HD 3650, and for the 3650 i can download, after the installation some kexts, can't i?

to get it to the point, where i am at the moment i tried many boot cds, and options in my BIOS, so don't be annoyed that fast

 

also, what does it mean for me, to start the installation in safe mode?
