ts098071 Posted December 12, 2010 Share Posted December 12, 2010 I have 10.6.5 installed on an Asus 1005HA (using a number of how-tos, mainly the most recent one I know of at technotalkblog.wordpress.com/). Everything is working, except WiFi. I'm done screwing around with the included Azurewave AR5B95 AW-NE785 WiFi card and have ordered a Dell DW1510 to replace it, but I'm unsure of how to proceed once the new card is installed. Can I just take the IO80211Family.kext from a genuine OSX 10.6.5 system and use Kext Helper and pfix to install that, or is there another kext that would be better suited? Well, I'm still looking for an answer to this, but I've since got the stock Atheros 9285 working by setting up a WiFi subnet off the Airport Extreme that I couldn't connect to (kept getting a self assigned IP). The trick was to make a G only network... the card can't connect to the multi compatible B/G/N Apple base station. Not a perfect solution, but good enuf until I get the DW1510 installed.
