eeemacguy
Hello Everyone, I just got done installing Snow Leopard on my ASUS eeepc 1000he yesterday. I used the vanilla Snow Leopard Installation DVD + myHack method, and everything works except the following: The graphics card stays at a resolution of 800x600, even though I have GraphicsEnabler set to the native 1024x600 resolution. I can't sleep, and OS X doesn't recognize that I'm running on a battery. When I close the lid, the computer doesn't sleep like it's supposed to. Speedstepping doesn't work, and I can't run the native AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement kext, even though I've patched my DSDT for HPET and RTC. I know there's probably guides for each of these things, but 8+ hours in, I can't seem to find the correct guides. #1 looks like a missing kext problem to me, and #2, #3, and #4 look like DSDT issues. I would appreciate any help I can get. I've attached the DSDT I'm currently using, and the output from ioreg and lspci on my 1000he. zicoos
Have you read this? Seems like a decent resource thread and the guys seem to be satisfied with their installation/performance. Might help you out. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239688-please-point-me-to-right-help-documents/#findComment-1600946 Share on other sites

Might help you out. I saw that, but they use Netbook Installer, doesn't that install a lot of unstable kexts? And I don't like the idea of copying someone else's Extensions.mkext without knowing exactly what is in it, that seems like it can cause a lot of problems with future upgrades. zicoos
You can always try to back your current kexts and Extensions.mkext file and overwrite, if things fail, boot into single user mode and restore them. I don't know about unstable kexts, someone with greater experience will have to answer about that. eeemacguy
I just got my 1000HE working! I tried Netbook Installer 0.8.4 RC1, but I ran into the DSDT infinite loop problem. Then I tried Netbook Installer 0.8.5 RC1 and that totally didn't work. Finally I found the eNik method and used that to install and it went great. Now I just need to figure out how to use vanilla power management so I can delete the 5 power kexts I'm using, but that's for another post.
