I have a 8730z with slightly different spec to yours, first you need a blank unformatted HD, you also need ##### legacy as normal ##### doesn't work. boot from #####, when u see the boot screen, swap discs and press F5 then select the mac install disc, go thru the install when it's time to reboot, swap the discs again, boot from ##### then choose mac os Now this is what I have found while using OSX reguarding hardware, wifi no, although mine is a ralink chip, i downloaded the driver from ralink, the cam although recognised isn;t usable, no driver for it, sdcard works, sound works but not thru optical spdif, hdmi no but the vga out does, usbs all present and correct, touch sensitive volume, no. touchpad yes, fully, ok now to the other, win7, using the disc tool on mac, resize the partition, you can then install win7 on the new blank partition. i have a tri boot on mine, using 2 HD's although i could have done it on the one drive i chose to have exclusive use on one for OSX and win7 and pclinuxos on the other. after the install install ##### following the instructions, that comes with some kexts that may help you, oh one last thing is i can't seem to get my ethernet port to say that there is a cable connected, no biggie for me as i use wifi. anyway i am happy with the result so far. u may need always need to boot thru ##### cd, but i imaged that to a sdcard and told the bios to boot from it first. enjoy  it rocks Quick update, boot from #####-legacy, go to extra on the cd, open terminal and copy the pre-boot.dmg to /Extra on your harddrive, no sdcard/usb needed. the command is "sudo cp preboot.dmg /extra" if ya need more help please don't hesitate to ask Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239301-first-steps-with-my-acer-aspire-8730/#findComment-1682725 Share on other sites
