AndrewZorn
i know this is a common problem here, but i have a SATA HDD that is in the very first Intel slot...
Rammjet
OSX has limited support for SATA. Might try going to BIOS and setting SATA to be recognized as PATA although I have a similar board and I could never get SATA recognized.
AndrewZorn
i dont think i have such an option... does yours? but ive seen the 975x run SATA, wouldnt they all be the same driver-wise?
Rammjet
I have a setting under IDE to set SATA to be treated as IDE. It might be called compatibility or SATA-PATA or something like that. It's not the 975 that is the deciding factor, it is the other chips that Asus has used. The ICH8 is unsupported in OSX (it has some ICH7 support). Another person with a 965 board had ICH8 and couldn't even boot the DVD - the DVD drive was not even see.
