crosswick
Hi Everyone, first post here, thankful for all the help I've found here sofar. Using this tutorial: http://osx-e1505.vacau.com/ I've been able to install Snow Leopard on my Dell Inspiron 6400 (otherwise known as E1505), updated to 10.6.4. It has been running smoothly apart from some flakyness with not being able to restart or shutdown without holding the power button for several seconds. Today, the partition wouldn't boot anymore, what I'm getting is a series of light blue, dark blue and black screens right before the desktop should appear... here'a a video: http://moby.to/tosbzs I've already tried this, to no avail: - booting with -x - from another, working SL partition: repairing disk permissions (there were some dealing with the graphics card, didn't make a difference repairing them though), verifying partition: no problems - reinstalling the GMA950.pkg graphics card driver Does anyone have any idea? Thanks! Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/239018-boot-fail-disco/ Share on other sites
crosswick
This issue was resolved by simply re-installing Snow Leopard over the existing one, which maintains all personal files and such. There had probably been some file corruption due to a sudden loss of power.
