As the title said, I had this after upgrading to 10.6.5. Already installed Legacy_Kernel_10.6.5 and USBFIX by Nawcom, but I still can't use USB Storage without any KP. Instantly. Any USB device can work flawlessly eg: mouse, keyboard,Gamepad. But any storage device will resulting KP immediately after connecting the device.

So, I need help. Really appreciate it. Thank you! ;)

SOLVED!

Thanks to Mr Genius aka Nawcom, it is solved. Apparantly when using the 10.6.5 legacy kernel, there's no need to use the 10.6.4 USBFIx kexts anymore.

quote from mr genius.

You need to then delete the 10.6.4 USB kexts that you installed in /Extra/Extensions. Everything should work fine. As long as you are using the 10.6.5 legacy kernel, you can use the 10.6.5 USB kexts.

That post was made before the xnu kernel source code was available, for people getting USB working with 10.6.5 while still using the 10.6.4 legacy kernel.

People should be installing the 10.6.5 legacy kernel after they install the 10.6.5 update, but before they reboot. That way they won’t have this USB issue.
